“Fusing soft succulent shades with smooth, lush, pearl-rich shine, this Lipglass puts a high gloss twist on Sheen Supreme’s signature finish. Slick, clickable pen-style applicator with a super soft brush delivers shine in one stroke”… That’s MAC’s summary for their new line of Lipglasses. These have the high shine and moisturizing feel that Sheen Supreme lipsticks have.
The color range isn’t huge, but there’s definitely something in there for everyone. These can be worn over a lipstick or lip pencil or alone. Since they’re surprisingly pigmented, they don’t NEED anything under them to make them look nice. The texture isn’t sticky and feels light on the lips. I like these a lot, and I find the packaging to be convenient. The only thing about the clickable pen-style applicator is that you have to click it many times first use, but go slowly so a ton of product doesn’t ooze out like it did for me… Oops!
I did not purchase all of these. The ones that are missing are Moon Beach, Sweet Bean, and Black Tea. I will try to get new pictures up soon too of these on my own lips.
For now, the Sheen Supreme Lipglasses are all limited edition. They sell for $19 at any MAC store, counter or online at www.maccosmetics.com.
Almond Blossom: Almond Blossom is a “pale pink with high level pearl”, according to MAC. I find this one to be the most sheer of the line, and on me it looks like a nude with a hint of pink, but mostly just a ton of pearly shine. It’s really nice, even though there’s not a TON of color to it. I love this over Blankety lipstick.
Asian Butterfly: This is a “lilac with pearl”. It’s a cool-toned pink with a hint of light purple to it. The color payoff is quite nice. It’s not quite opaque, but it’s definitely noticeable.
Cherry Fest: Cherry Fest is a “rose with high level pearl”. It’s a light, peachy rose color in my opinion. It’s in the middle of this line of Lipglasses as far as brightness and sheerness goes. You may want to layer this over a lipstick or lip pencil if you are looking for a more bold rosy/coral lip. Something like Costa Chic or See Sheer would look nice under Cherry Fest. Of course, it can be worn alone too for a wash of color and a lot of shine.
Dress Kimono: This is the most intense of the Sheen Supreme Lipglasses. MAC refers to Dress Kimono as a “mid tone frosted plum”, although I see it more of a plummy sort of red. Either way it’s gorgeous! I like to wear this one by itself a lot of the time, or with a very soft layer of Half-Red lip pencil underneath so it stays in place a little longer.
Fuji Pink: Fuji Pink is a “pale peach with low level pearl”. It’s a neutral peachy pink that reminds me somewhat of Florabundance lip glass, but is much shinier and a touch more intense and peachy. It’s got good color payoff, despite the fact that it’s such a light color. It’s not quite as pearly as some of the other Sheen Supreme Lipglasses but it’s still very shiny.
Imperial Red: Imperial Red is a gorgeous “bright rose with pearl”. On me it looks a bit more like a bright, warm pink. It’s very pigmented with lots of shine, but not as much pearl as some of the other Lipglasses in this line. I like to wear this over Viva Glam Nicki lipstick and More to Love Pro Longwear lip pencil.
Jasmine Honey: This is a “light cream beige”. It’s more of a true nude/neutral color, but isn’t all that sheer for as light as it is. It’s not quite as pearly as some other Sheen Supreme Lipglasses but it’s still VERY shiny. It does have a slight pearl to it that’s golden and very pretty. This can be worn alone or over something like Myth or any other nude lipstick.
Mango Sheen: Mango Sheen is a “bright coral with pearl”. It’s very bright and highly pigmented, and although it is indeed a coral, it’s a deeper, more orange/red type of coral. Corals and oranges are HOT for spring and summer and I am loving this Lipglass right now. I layer it over Lasting Sensation lip pencil and sometimes also over Lady Danger or Morange lipstick. Best color in this line in my opinion! It looks fantastic on everyone.
