MAC Fashion Sets – Impassioned Lipstick, Lipglass and Nail Lacquer: Photos, Swatches and Review

Posted by

Fashion Sets is MAC’s newest collection featuring “sets” of matching Lipstick, Lipglass, and Nail Lacquer. The colors were chosen based on how popular these shades of lipstick are in different regions of the world. This set features Impassioned, a permanent Lipstick and limited edition Lipglass and Nail Lacquer.

All three Impassioned products are available online and may be available at some Macy’s locations and stores in the US. It’s part of the Asia Pacific group of Fashion Sets as well as Europe/Africa and Latin America/Middle East. These sell for the usual prices, with Lipstick and Lipglass costing $14.50 and Nail Lacquer selling for $16.00.

Left to Right: Lipstick, Lipglass, Lipstick + Lipglass layered

Impassioned Lipstick (Amplified Creme):   This is an “amped-up fuchsia” that is warm toned and contains more deep pink and reddish undertones than blue or purple. It’s an Amplified Creme finish so the color payoff is great, giving opaque coverage without having to apply much product and has a shiny, creamy texture. This lipstick wears for about 6 hours without needing to be touched up. I like to use Embrace Me Lip Pencil or More to Love Pro Longwear Lip Pencil with Impassioned.

Impassioned Lipglass:   As you can see from the swatch, this “bright warm pink” Lipglass is a perfect match for the Lipstick and is a warm toned, bright pinkish fuchsia. It contains no shimmer, it’s just creamy, shiny and opaque.

Impassioned Nail Lacquer (Cream):   You can probably see from the photo that Impassioned Nail Lacquer doesn’t quite match the Lipstick and Lipglass… It appears to be a little more coral/orange. On the nails, it looks like a bright, warm pink with a hint of coral to it. It took three coats for me to get this to look opaque and not streaky when I played around with it.

As with all MAC Nail Lacquers, I get close to 4-5 days of wear without much chipping or tip wear. With a topcoat like MAC’s Overlacquer, it will last closer to a week.
