MAC Fashion Sets – Ravishing Lipstick, Lipglass and Nail Lacquer: Photos, Swatches and Review

Fashion Sets is MAC’s newest collection featuring “sets” of matching Lipstick, Lipglass, and Nail Lacquer. The colors were chosen based on how popular these shades of lipstick are in different regions of the world. This set features Ravishing, a permanent Lipstick and limited edition Lipglass and Nail Lacquer.

Ravishing products are available online and are part of the Asia Pacific group of Fashion Sets. These sell for the usual prices, with Lipstick and Lipglass costing $14.50 and Nail Lacquer selling for $16.00.

Ravishing Lipstick (Cremesheen):   Ravishing Lipstick is a “clean light peachy coral”. That description sums it up pretty well. It’s a lovely, warm, soft coral that’s suitable for all skintones, in my opinion. Ravishing has a Cremesheen finish, so it has good color payoff with opaque coverage, as well as a slightly glossy shine to it. Cremesheen Lipsticks typically give me about 4-5 hours of wear before I need to touch up. I usually use a neutral Lip Pencil like Subculture with this color, or for something a bit more bold, you could use Lasting Sensation. A little bird tells me that there’s a pretty coralish Pro Longwear Lip Pencil coming out with the Hey Sailor! collection too 😉

Ravishing Lipglass:   This Lipglass is about the same color as the Lipstick, although it has a bit deeper of an orange tone to it. Also unlike the Lipstick, Ravishing Lipglass contains some soft microshimmer particles, as you can tell from the swatches.

Ravishing Nail Lacquer (Cream):   The color of Ravishing Nail Lacquer is probably closer to the Lipglass than the Lipstick, only it’s a Cream finish and lacks any shimmer. It’s very opaque with only two coats and goes smoothly on with no streaks.

As with all MAC Nail Lacquers, I get close to 4-5 days of wear without much chipping or tip wear. With a topcoat like MAC’s Overlacquer, it will last closer to a week.
