Fashion Sets is MAC’s newest collection featuring “sets” of matching Lipstick, Lipglass, and Nail Lacquer. The colors were chosen based on how popular these shades of lipstick are in different regions of the world. This set features Snob, a permanent Lipstick and limited edition Lipglass and Nail Lacquer.
All three Saint Germain products are available online, at counters, and in stores and are part of the North America and Latin America/Middle East groups of Fashion Sets. These sell for the usual prices, with Lipstick and Lipglass costing $14.50 and Nail Lacquer selling for $16.00.
Snob Lipstick (Satin): Snob Lipstick is a “light neutral pink” that tends to look more cool toned than neutral on most people. It’s a Satin finish, so it gives creamy, opaque coverage with a bit of shine and lasts around 5-6 hours. I like to wear this with Dervish or Hip ‘N’ Happy Lip Pencil.
Snob Lipglass: This Lipglass is more of a true neutral than Snob Lipstick is, but it still leans towards the cool side. The coverage is nearly opaque but not completely. This Lipglass can settle into the lines on the lips when worn alone if applied too heavily.
Snob Nail Lacquer (Cream): Snob Nail Lacquer isn’t quite the same as the lipstick, as it’s brighter and more of a midtone neutral/warm pink. In the glass jar it looks cool toned, but it’s not. Weird… Anyhow, it gives opaque coverage after two coats but looks streaky after the first. The second coat will even it all out though.
As with all MAC Nail Lacquers, I get close to 4-5 days of wear without much chipping or tip wear. With a topcoat like MAC’s Overlacquer, it will last closer to a week.
