As some of you may know, MAC recently released a whole bunch of new Nail Lacquers. I recently purchased a few of the shimmery/sparkly ones, since they’re new and different. Yesterday I painted my nails with Soiree…
Soiree is a Frost finish… In fact, it contains pretty much nothing but shimmer! It’s a “sparkly light bronze gold” that is a warm, light-medium, coppery/bronzed gold that reflects light beautifully! If Soiree looks familiar, it’s because it was also released with MAC’s Cham Pale collection back in late 2010.
It dries quickly… Much faster than other MAC Nail Lacquers. It seems that most of the shades with this texture do, which is nice! It applies nearly opaque with one coat, but I did two just to make sure there were no streaks or sheer spots. I do recommend applying a top coat over this… I like to use Essie’s No Chips Ahead. For me, it looked slightly dull after a day or two when I wore it alone to test it. I usually get about 4-5 days of wear with MAC’s Nail Lacquer without a top coat, with Frost finishes like this one lasting 3-4 before they start to chip. If you use a top coat you’ll get more like a week of wear!
Soiree and other new MAC Nail Lacquers are currently available at MAC stores, Nordstrom stores, and online at www.maccosmetics.com, and will be available at all other counters on August 12th. They contain 10ml/0.34 fl oz of product and sell for $16.
