MAC Styleseeker On The Hunt Eye Shadow Duo: Photos, Swatches and Reviews

Oh my gosh… I didn’t even realize that I hadn’t published the rest of the Styleseeker posts!!! They were all saved as drafts, just sitting here hidden from the world. I am SO sorry!!

On The Hunt is the second (and only other) eye shadow duo from this collection that I purchased. The other two were great, I just couldn’t talk myself into buying duos that contained permanent colors that I already had.

The On The Hunt Duo is limited edition and is available now at www.maccosmetics.com or at your local MAC store or counter. Each duo contains two normal sized MAC Eye Shadows (1.5g/0.5oz each), and costs $27.50.

On The Hunt is a fairly bold type of duo, but still wearable by all skintones. These colors can be worn for both day and night, and Shadowy Lady (both a permanent color and one of the colors in the Whims & Fancies duo) is great to use with On The Hunt if you want to add some drama and make it a bit more smokey. I’m not normally drawn to bronzed, sort of reddish colors like Raving Mad, but these look lovely and less intimidating once they’re applied. I’m REALLY into these for the fall season!

Star Myth (Veluxe Pearl):   Star Myth is a “bronzed violet”… It’s a warm toned eye shadow that leans more coppery than violet. There is definitely violet in there, but it’s more of the pinkish violet. As for the coppery/bronzed side of Star Myth, it’s a midtone reddish color, rather than a brownish bronze. For a Veluxe Pearl finish, it’s quite shimmery. Normally I find Veluxe Pearls to be smooth, but this one does not feel 100% smooth… Probably from the loads of warm, copper-toned microshimmer particles. The color payoff is good, with slightly less than opaque coverage. Star Myth wore well for 12+ hours with no creasing when I applied it over Painterly Paint Pot.

Raving Mad (Frost):   Raving Mad is a “bronzed red” with a Frost finish. It’s a medium red/pink with underlying orange-ish bronze tones. The Frost finish gives it a sheen without being overly shimmery or sparkly. As bold as it looks in the pan, it’s not as bright once applied… It doesn’t go on totally opaque, so it looks more muted once you have it on. Raving Mad gave me 10+ hours of crease-free wear when I applied it over a neutral Paint Pot.
