MAC Apres Chic – Pro Longwear Eye Liner: Photos, Swatches and Reviews

There’s another new product out with the Apres Chic collection… Pro Longwear Eye Liner! These eye liners are a great addition to the Pro Longwear lineup and are sure to become a top seller in no time. I’ve had some time to test them out and I must say, I’m impressed. They’re comparable to Powerpoint Eye Pencils, but even longer wearing. They’re very smooth and last a LONG time! The nicest part is that you can smudge them for a soft, smokey look but once they set, they last for 10-12 hours on the eyelid and 6-8 hours on the waterline.

Pro Longwear Eye Liners are available now and will remain as part of MAC’s permanent range of products, so they won’t be disappearing anytime soon. You can pick these up at any MAC counter, store, or online at www.maccosmetics.com. These eye liners cost $19.50 and contain  5g / 0.17oz of product.

Black Ice:   Black Ice is a “rich black” with a silky, semi-matte finish that sets to a true matte. It’s intense and has great color payoff, but is easily smudge-able and feels smooth. Black Ice gave me the best wear both on the lashline and waterline. Black liners are pretty basic, so they work with any eye color.

Mountain Air:   Mountain Air is a “vibrant teal” with a slight sheen, although it’s mostly matte. It’s a cool toned, medium teal-ish blue. The color payoff is fantastic! This liner goes on super smooth and lasts throughout the day, staying in place as well as keeping the bold color. I like this best on people with hazel and brown eyes.

Night Trail:   Night Trail is a “deep navy blue” with a cool toned sheen. To me, it looks like a charcoal-tinged navy blue. It’s nice because it’s not as bold as a black and it looks really good on people with brown eyes. The color payoff for Night Trail isn’t as deep or intense as Black Ice or Mountain Air, but it’s still a great eye liner. Not everything has to be super intense to be a great product… I actually prefer this to a black eye liner for a daytime look.

Rich Experience:   Rich Experience is described as a “true brown”… It’s a dark, rich, neutral brown with a velvety, matte finish. When I applied this, it didn’t go on as dark as it looks in pencil form but you can easily build on it. It did feel a bit drier than the other pencils in this collection but the drier texture didn’t cause any problems when I applied it. I do love this color… It’s great for a softer daytime look and is especially flattering on people with blue or green eyes, although it works on everyone.

Snow Shadow:   Snow Shadow is a “purple violet” that looks a lot brighter on the website than it does in real life! In person, this is a dark, cool toned purple. It’s the sheerest and driest of all of the Pro Longwear Eye Liners, which may be disappointing to some people. It’s still something that I see myself using on a regular basis… A softer look isn’t always a bad thing, especially with bright colors! This is a nice eye liner for anyone with green, hazel, or brown eyes.
