MAC Archie’s Girls – Veronica Lipsticks: Photos, Swatches and Reviews

There are three Lipsticks available in each side of this collection… The three in the Veronica half of Archie’s Girls are all bold, which are a perfect fit for all you Veronica’s out there! Purples are the new pinks, so there are several in this collection and I would expect to see more this Spring (or hope to anyway)!

Like the rest of the products in the Archie’s Girls collection, these Lipsticks have special packaging. They come in a white box with the Archie’s Girls logo and feature either Betty or Veronica on the white tube, depending on which half of the collection the Lipstick is from. To me, the packaging is cute and unique rather than outrageously bright or over the top, so you’ll most likely get compliments when you pull this from your makeup bag to touch up!

MAC Lipsticks typically wear for 4-6 hours… Longer with Prep + Prime Lip and a liner of some sort. They apply smoothly and have good color payoff. MAC Lipsticks have a faint vanilla scent and no taste.

The Lipsticks from the Archie’s Girls collection are limited edition and are available now at MAC counters, stores, and online at www.maccosmetics.com. As far as I know, they are all sold out online but MAC is planning on releasing some more stock of them soon on the website, so keep checking back! Like other MAC Lipsticks, these contain 3 g / 0.1 US oz of product. Unlike other MAC Lipsticks, these sell for $16.50 rather than the usual $15 but that’s typical with collections like this that have special packaging.

Boyfriend Stealer (Cremesheen):   Boyfriend Stealer is a “deep blackened plum” with a Cremesheen finish. It’s a dark, blackened plummy wine color with a decent amount of sheen to it. It’s not opaque and took some layering to get it to show up as pigmented as it is in the photo above. It went on smoothly, but it feels like it might show off chapped or dry areas if you have any of those. I do recommend wearing a lip primer like Prep + Prime Lip with ANY lipstick though, as it makes it go on smoother and last longer. I got a  3-4 hours of wear before Boyfriend Stealer began to fade. It would wear longer with a liner… I suggest one like Nightmoth, Currant, or Plum Lip Pencil from MAC. This Lipstick looks great when layered under Feelin’ So Good Lipglass, which is also part of the Veronica half of the Archie’s Girls collection.

Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy’s Little Girl

Daddy's Little Girl on LipsDaddy’s Little Girl (Satin):   This lipstick is a “midtone pink violet” with a Satin finish. It’s a medium, bright, slightly cool toned, pinkish fuchsia color with a nice amount of satiny sheen to it. It felt super smooth when applied and lasted a solid 4-5 hours before any fading occurred. I got totally opaque coverage and great color payoff with little product, so that was impressive with a Satin finish. If you want to wear a liner with this, I would suggest a MAC Lip Pencil like Magenta or Embrace Me (which was limited but you may have it in your stash). Another good one is Process Magenta Chromagraphic Pencil from MAC Pro, which is permanent and can be purchased online or at MAC Pro stores. A nice lipgloss to layer over this Lipstick would be Mall Madness Lipglass, also part of the Veronica half of this collection.

Ronnie Red

Ronnie Red

Ronnie Red on LipsRonnie Red (Matte):   Ronnie Red is a “bright red” with a Matte finish… It’s a medium-dark, bright,  slightly cool toned red with a nearly matte finish that has a soft sheen. These type of matte finishes with a sheen have been seen a lot lately with recent MAC collections! In fact, Ronnie Red is sort of like a lighter version of Absolute Power, which came out right after Christmas with the Strength collection. With Ronnie Red, I got completely opaque coverage and great color payoff with one swipe of this lipstick. It gave me over 6 hours of wear, which is awesome! It glided on so smoothly and didn’t show the dry areas on my lips at all. Even after sipping coffee, this hasn’t budged all afternoon and I don’t even have it on with a liner! If you’d like to wear a liner with it, Cherry Lip Pencil from MAC would look nice, as would Brick if you want a bit more contrast. If you’d like to layer a lipgloss over Ronnie Red, Strawberry Malt Lipglass would be perfect and is one of the Veronica Lipglasses in the Archie’s Girls collection.
