MAC Archie’s Girls – Betty Lipglasses: Photos, Swatches and Reviews

There are three Lipglasses that are part of the Betty side of the Archie’s Girls collection… For the most part they go along with the Berry Lipsticks, with the exception of Oh, Oh, Oh Lipstick, which none of these necessarily go with… Anyway, they’re soft, pastel toned Lipglasses that go along perfectly with Betty’s sweet, girly image.

As with the other Archie’s Girls products, these Lipglasses have special packaging. They come in a white box with the Archie’s Girls logo and feature either Betty or Veronica on the clear tube with a white lid, depending on which half of the collection the Lipglass is from. I think the Lipglass packaging is a little more toned down than the Lipsticks are but it’s still super cute!

MAC Lipglasses typically give me about 4 hours of wear before I need to touch up. They’re a somewhat thick, slightly sticky formula, but the sticky feeling doesn’t last long… After you’ve had it on for a bit and it have a chance to warm up and melt onto your lips the stickiness goes away. If they were too runny, they would not be so pigmented or wear as well, so don’t take the thick, sticky feeling as a negative thing! MAC Lipglasses are my favorite formula out of any type of lipgloss out there! These, like other MAC Lipglass, have a subtle vanilla scent but no taste.

These Lipglasses are limited edition with the Archie’s Girls collection and are available now at any MAC store, counter, or online at www.maccosmetics.com. Surprisingly, the only one that is sold out online is Kiss & Don’t Tell. Like other MAC Lipglasses, these contain 4.8 g / 0.17 US oz of product. However, these cost a little more, due to the special packaging, so they sell for $16.50 rather than the usual $15.

Kiss & Don't Tell

Kiss & Don’t Tell

Kiss & Don't Tell on LipsKiss & Don’t Tell:   Kiss & Don’t Tell is a “bright coral” with a soft creamy finish that contains no shimmer. It is a bright, medium, warm toned pinky-peachy coral that gives really great coverage and color payoff. It wore well for about 4 hours and didn’t settle into the lines on my lips or feather at all. In some ways it reminds me of Viva Glam Nicki Lipglass, but it’s not as opaque or intense, and Viva Glam Nicki may actually be a teeny bit lighter. It looks great worn alone but if you want to pair Kiss & Don’t Tell up with a Lipstick from the Archie’s Girls collection, I suggest Betty Bright.

Stay Sweet

Stay Sweet

Stay Sweet on LipsStay Sweet:  Stay Sweet is a “light lavender pink” with a creamy finish and no shimmer. It’s a pale, cool toned, lavender tinged, milky pink. Surprisingly, the milkiness of Stay Sweet didn’t settle into the lines on my lips like those type of finishes usually do. It has great coverage and color payoff too and wore for around 3-4 hours before it started to fade. The perfect Lipstick to go under this Lipglass is Girl Next Door, from the Betty side or the Archie’s Girls collection. Pink Fade is a close dupe to Stay Sweet but is a bit more lavender and cooler toned. Viva Glam Nicki 2 Lipglass is also similar once applied, but is much cooler and more purple in the tube.

Summer Sweetheart

Summer Sweetheart

Summer Sweetheart on LipsSummer Sweetheart:   This Lipglass is a “light peach” with a creamy finish and no shimmer. It’s a pale, very milky, soft peach color. It gave wonderful color payoff and good opacity, although there is still some sheerness there. Unfortunately, unlike Stay Sweet, the milkiness of Summer Sweetheart did make the Lipglass settle into my lip lines a bit. As I have said before, this can be helped if you wear a layer of MAC Prep + Prime Lip underneath. It applied smoothly and wore well with no feathering, but only for about 3 hours. Since there’s not a perfect Lipstick match in this collection for this Lipglass, you could always wear it alone or use it to tone down Betty Bright Lipstick! It also looks really nice over any nude Lipstick (like Myth or Japanese Maple). In some ways, Summer Sweetheart reminds me of Orange Tempura but I think Orange Tempura may be a little lighter.
