I’ve been really excited about this collection, and it just restocked on Friday, May 11th, so I thought I would give you all a little peek and rundown on the products while they’re all still available! I’ll post full reviews with swatches of each product soon, so keep checking back for those! As I post them, I’ll list them below:
The best things about this collection are that everything is really high quality, the whole collection is very versatile and has a cohesive color story (you can literally use anything with anything else in this collection and your look will be FIRE), and it’s also SUPER affordable! You can get the entire bundle/kit for only $59, which is enough to qualify for Colourpop’s free shipping, so that’s an even better deal! To pick up this collection, just go visit www.colourpop.com. Also, Colourpop is a cruelty-free company, so no cute and fuzzies were harmed in the making of these products 🙂
The easiest way to stay updated on when I make posts is to sign up for alerts via email (I think there’s a little “follow” button on the front page of the blog), or you can follow me on Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat, all of which are lesley_makeup! I love hearing from you guys too, so that’s a good way to stay in touch with me if you want!
Sooooo here we go… Time to peep these pretty lil things!
Perception Pressed Powder Shadow Palette
This gorgeous palette sells for $23 if you buy it individually, and contains 16 shadows for a total product weight of 18.56 g / 0.624 oz (that’s 1.16 g / 0.039 oz per shadow). Honestly, that’s a great deal for the price and yeah, these shadows might not be huge compared to other brands, but they’re the same size shadows that are in any other Colourpop palette. Plus, you’re getting a ton of colors that you can create pretty much any look with for what you probably spend at Starbucks in a week!
The quality of these is on par with, if not better than Colourpop’s other palettes. I haven’t used every single shadow yet, but I haven’t noticed any fallout or patchiness with the ones I have used, and they’ve all been very highly pigmented and easy to blend or pack on for a burst of color. When I do the separate review of this palette soon, I’ll go into a lot more detail for each shadow, but I have a feeling that all of these shades will be consistent and really nice.
C’mon Sis, Oouuuu!, and Quickie Crème Lux Lipsticks
The lipsticks in this collection sell for $7 individually, or you can get all three for $21. They contain 3.5 g / 0.12oz of product… That’s a steal, especially since most of the drug store brands sell for half again as much and don’t feel nearly this luxurious!
I love Colourpop’s lipstick formula and these are just as creamy and pigmented as any other Lux Lipstick that Colourpop has to offer. The color selection of these three lipsticks gives you a little something for any look and works well with the shades in the Perception eye shadow palette, as well as the other products in this collection.
I’ve only worn two of these so far… Oouuuu! and Quickie, but I can tell you that they’re incredibly comfortable since they have a creamy formula and a natural-matte type of finish. Also, they wear SO well! Like a lot better than most straight up matte, dry formulas of lipsticks. Yesterday, I wore Oouuuu! and applied it at 4pm… It stayed on through dinner and for hours afterwards, until about 10-11pm. That said, there was some fading in the center of the lip and some general fading all over, but it was so subtle that it still gave me a wash of color even up to the end, and still looked like I had a lip on and not like a sloppy mess… So props to you Shayla and Colourpop for coming out with these!
I also want to add that all three of these colors can work for ANY skin tone. You may want to play around with liners (especially with Quickie because nudes NEED a liner most of the time), but paired up with the right liners, these can be flattering on anyone from fair to deep skin. I really appreciate it when a brand and the person they collab with put enough thought into a collection so that it works for everyone ❤
Neat Freak Ultra Glossy Lip
This gloss costs $6 and contains 3 g / 0.11 oz of product. That’s a really good value, considering many similar glosses from other brands contain about half as much product but sell for three times the price of Neat Freak!
To be honest with you all, I’m not typically a fan of shimmery/sparkly lip glosses, but I AM a fan of Colourpop’s Ultra Glossy Lip formula so I decided to give this a shot, even if the description contains the word “glitter” which I typically shudder at. I’m glad I got this gloss, though, and I feel like I need to stock up on at least three or four more! It’s very pretty alone (the only way I’ve worn it so far), and just adds a little somethin’ somethin’ to your lips if you’re having a minimal makeup or hell, a no makeup day and need a little shine on your pout. You can also layer it on itself for an extra shimmery look, or add it on top of a lipstick to create some extra shine and dimension (it works really well with the colors of lipstick from this collection, btw, especially Quickie). It’s not a sticky, heavy formula, so it’s incredibly comfortable to wear. Also, since this is somewhat sheer with just a hint of golden nude color and mostly shimmer, it’s suitable for everyone!
Pose and Boomin’ Luster Dust Loose Highlighters
Unlike the lipsticks, you cannot purchase these highlighters together, but you can get them in the bundle/kit with everything else for $59, or you can get them individually for only $7 each! For some reason I thought these would be more because 3.1 g / 0.11oz of product seems like a TON for a loose highlighter that you only need to use very little of!
Anyway, these are well, boomin’, and you need them in your life, trust me. I was skeptical at first because the only loose powdery products I’ve ever used as highlighters were MAC’s Pigments or *sob* MAC’s Silver Dusk whatever powder that they discontinued, and while I liked products like that, I always found them tricky to use as highlighters because it was either too much or too little payoff… Well, Colourpop and Shayla have solved that loose highlighter issue by creating these! They’re very pigmented and reflective, but also very easy to apply and control. When I post the separate review for these, I’ll give you guys some tips and tricks for them, but I will tell you that 1) they can be used dry or damp and 2) USE A LIGHT HAND and build these up if needed! A little bit goes a long way!
Both of these colors are gorgeous and I can see them working on any and all skin tones. I’ve used both when I was spray tanned and when I wasn’t, which is a difference of about 3-4 foundation shades for me, soooo I can vouch for the fact that these are pretty darn versatile. The undertones of these are also flattering for both warm or cool skin tones, and I’ll get into more of that in the separate review as well. Oh, and these are a multi-purpose product so they can also be used as eye shadows, on your inner corner, or even dusted on top of your lipstick.
Boomin’ is a lighter, more yellow based golden shade, while Pose has more of a medium rose gold hue. I can see people with more fair and/or cool toned skin leaning towards using Boomin’, and people with medium or medium-dark to deep and/or more warm toned skin reaching for Pose, but like I said, either one can work on anybody! They also work well with the colors in the Perception eye shadow palette, and with the lip products in this collection, so thank you, Shayla, for making such a cohesive collection! And yeah yeah, I know I said that a million times in this review, but it’s truly mind blowing and I just love it!
This post expresses my own honest opinion. I purchased these with my own money and did not receive any type of PR or compensation for this post.
