Fenty Beauty: Uncuffed Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Color

Posted by

I think I’ve found one of my new favorite lippies for fall! The Stunna Lip Paints are by far one of the best liquid lipsticks out there and I feel like Uncuffed, along with the other four colors, would be flattering on just about everyone and can be used with so many different looks.

I’ll get into more details about this formula and particular color later on in the post.

To see what I’m testing, reviewing, and loving, make sure you follow me on Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat! You can find me @lesley_makeup on all three platforms and I love to hear from my readers!

Also, if you’ve tried this product, let me know in the comments how you like it!

To get straight to the basics and keep this post short and sweet, you can pick this up from Sephora stores, Sephora inside JCPenney, and Sephora’s website. You can also order this online from the Fenty Beauty website. Uncuffed and other Stunna Lip Paints sell for $24 and contain 0.13 oz / 4 ml of product. This is a pretty average price for a liquid lipstick containing that amount of product, but Fenty’s formula is unique and very high quality, so to me, these are worth the money.

Fenty Beauty is a cruelty-free company and does not allow any of their suppliers or affiliates to test on animals on their behalf. While I’m not sure if this particular product is vegan or not, I know that some of their products are! From what I’m reading on the ingredients list printed on the box, Uncuffed appears to be vegan, but I’m no chemist so don’t quote me on that.

Fenty’s Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colors don’t just look unique on the outside… The formula is outstanding and different from any other liquid lipstick I’ve tried. It’s definitely a very fluid-like consistency. To me, when I think of a liquid lipstick, I think of something heavier or thicker and maybe more whipped in texture, but when I see the word “fluid”, I think of something much more weightless, which is what Stunna Lip Paints are.

According to both the Fenty Beauty and Sephora websites, the claims for these lipsticks are as follows:

  • Weightless
  • 12 hour wear time
  • Soft matte finish

As I mentioned, these really do have a weightless, very comfortable formula that’s easy to apply and doesn’t feel drying or heavy on the lips. It’s very thin and fluid-like when applied and takes a moment to dry down to a beautiful, natural, soft matte finish. It doesn’t seem to bleed or feather, even without using a lip liner, which I love about the Stunna Lip Paints! It’s not totally smudge or transfer-proof but it is transfer-resistant. For being such a thin formula, it’s insanely pigmented and I’m pretty sure that no one will ever have to double dip with the wand to get enough product and coverage! A little bit goes a very long way and the one of a kind, tapered applicator makes it easy to get an even, precise application.

While I can’t verify the 12 hour wear time claim since I never even have lipstick on that long, Uncuffed definitely stayed on for a good while without coming off or separating during meals, except for in the center of the lip, which is typical. One last thing I really like about this formula is that it wears well but doesn’t cling to mildly dry spots or settle into and emphasize the lines in my lips, which so many other liquid lipstick formulas do.

There are only 5 shades right now, but I feel like there will be more in the future! Rihanna, who is very hands-on with her brand and hand picked each shade of Stunna Lip Paint, seems to put a lot of effort and thought into Fenty Beauty’s products, so I understand why there’s not a huge range of these just yet. Perfection takes time, but it’s worth the wait and I SO appreciate a brand that’s more focused on quality over quantity!

The packaging is cute, classy, and a little edgy, which is exactly what I would except from Rihanna’s brand. It lists features of the product on the side, and ingredients and the expiry period (12 months) on the back. Both the packaging and component itself are recyclable.

Photo taken outdoors on a cloudy day (that’s all we have here). Stunna Lip Paint swatched on MAC NC10-NC15 skin.
Lip photos taken indoors using indirect, natural sunlight and a ring light. For reference, I’m a little darker than MAC NC10 Studio Fix Fluid right now.

Uncuffed:   This liquid lipstick is described as a “rosy mauve” and has a natural, soft matte finish. It’s a medium to medium dark (if you’re as fair as I am), mostly neutral but very slightly warm toned truly rosy mauve that I can see being flattering on everyone, no matter what your age or skin tone may be. It may pull a bit lighter on darker on different people, but I like it when lipsticks do that because it makes it feel like it was made just for you!

The texture of Uncuffed is very thin and almost watery, but not runny. It’s lightweight and comfortable, and as you can see in the photos above, it doesn’t make the dry, chapped spot on the lower right area of my bottom lip very apparent like most liquid lipsticks would do. It’s easy to apply and dries down pretty quickly, but not so fast that you don’t have time to blend it out or blend it with a liner or another color of lipstick if you want to. Color payoff is great and looks nearly the same on the lips as it does in the bottle, but will sort of change depending on your skin tone… On me, it darkens quite a bit but I’m incredibly fair this time of year. Opacity is full and the coverage is amazing with only one dip into the tube/bottle. Wear time for me was a full 8 hours with the only fading happening in the center of the lip, or a little on both the center of my lip and part of my upper lip if I drank something oily, like my coffee with MCT oil. Food, water and non-oily beverages don’t seem to have any affect on this lipstick, though.
