Swatchmas Day 17: My Top 5 Kylie Cosmetics Velvet Liquid Lipsticks

On the seventeenth day of Swatchmas, I give you my five favorite Velvet Liquid Lipsticks from Kylie Cosmetics! Like my Top 5 Kylie Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lipsticks I posted earlier in Swatchmas, I feel like this formula has gotten a little better since it was first launched. It’s a very pigmented formula that’s thin, but not watery, so it’s easy to apply without having to layer it, preventing it from getting too goopy or sticky. Since these are velvets, they have a softer, creamier appearance than the matte formula liquid lipsticks do, and they don’t wear quite so long as the mattes, but they still wear well for many hours.

Some of these are available in lip kits (Posie K, Charm, and Kylie), that include a matching liner, along with the liquid lipstick itself. The lip kits are a good value at $27 for a Velvet Liquid Lipstick that contains 3 g / 0.11 oz of product and a liner that contains 1 g / 0.3 oz of product. Some of these are also available as singles (Boy Bye, Posie K, Basic, and Charm), which sell for $16 each and contain the same 3 g / 0.11 oz of product as the liquid lipsticks in the lip kits do. All of these are available directly from the Kylie Cosmetics website. Basic, Boy Bye, and Charm singles are available from both Ulta stores and the Ulta website.

The Velvet Liquid Lipsticks featured in this post are:

  • Boy Bye:   Pinky mauve
  • Posie K:   Cool mid-tone berry
  • Basic:   Midtone taupe
  • Charm:   Dusty pink rose
  • Kylie:   Soft dusty nude
